Panchayat

A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for administering the affairs of Panchayat Raj institutions. Regarding a Gram Panchayat, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Gram Sabha and handles day-to-day administration.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and supervise the overall activities of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges duties in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward within the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Formed for matters such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education, to facilitate the decision-making process of the Panchayat.
